StackVision 6.2 R1 New Features

The Development team at ESC has been hard at work adding new features designed to improve the StackVision software. With the release of StackVision 6.2 (Revision 1), ESC has provided numerous bug fixes, updates, enhancements, and new features. The new StackVision client has been expanded with the addition of a Cylinder Management tool, which will replace Cal Gas Management.

DataLab has also been redesigned and is now available as DataLab BETA in the new client. Other updates to the new client include a redesign of the toolbar menu icon, additions to QA test deadlines, changes to parameter selection, and enhancement of the server display options.

Other areas affected by this release include Consoles, Controller Emulation, Linearity, OPC UA, Platform Support, RATA, Reports, Sorbent Traps, Stack Studio, and User Accounts and Roles.

This update can be installed on any system running StackVision 6.0 or later. If you are currently running an earlier release of StackVision, please review the system requirements in the Installation Guide to determine if your system is compatible. If you previously installed StackVision 6.2 BETA, this release is a required upgrade. This version can also be used for new installations. Version 6.2 R1 can be downloaded from the ESC|StackVision Downloads page in the ESC Customer Community (requires login).

Following is an overview of the new features implemented in this release. For a more detailed description of the improvements ESC has made, view the StackVision 6.2 Updates in the Release Notes.

Cylinder Management

The Cylinder Management tool is now available in the new StackVision Client:
Replaces Cal Gas Management: The new Cylinder Management tool replaces the former Cal Gas Management tool and provides easier access to the cylinders in your whole fleet. See Differences between Cylinder Management and Cal Gas Management to help overcome the learning curve.
Displays All Cylinder and Calibration Information on One Screen: The Cylinder Management tool displays all your cylinder information on one screen rather than in separate tabs. The screen is separated into 2 panes, one for Cylinders and one for Phases. The tool provides intuitive display filters to help easily locate the items you need to work with and color coding to help identify cylinder status and compatibility between cylinders and phases.
See the Cylinder Management section of the release notes for more detailed information on the new tool.
See the Cylinder Management section under New Client Features in the release notes for a full description of the Charts feature.

DataLab (BETA)

Version 6.2 introduces the BETA release of the new DataLab Feature. DataLab is still available in the original StackVision client while the new one is in BETA; however, ESC encourages you to test drive the BETA version of the new DataLab tool and let us know how the new design is working for you. Comments and suggestions may be emailed to the Support team.
See the DataLab (BETA) section under New Client Features in the release notes for more information about the redesigned DataLab feature.

LogBook

Undo Changes Button: When using Append to edit an Entry, use the new Undo Changes button to cancel all edits if needed. After clicking the button, click Yes in the “Undo Changes” message to undo changes and complete the process.
See the LogBook section under New Client Features in the release notes for a full description of the LogBook feature.

QA Test Deadlines (BETA)

Support for Part 60 RATAs and CGAs: The QA Test Deadlines tool now shows status for Part 60 RATAs and Cylinder Gas Audits (CGAs). This update resolves Article 1807 from the ESC Customer Community.
Corrected Linearity Status: The QA Test Deadlines tool now checks a parameter's RATA and Linearity settings in StackStudio to determine if it is enabled or disabled. If it is disabled, QA Test Deadlines no longer displays historical tests for that parameter and does not predict when the next test is due. This update resolves Article 1804 from the ESC Customer Community.
See the New Client Features section in the release notes for a full description of the new StackVision Client.

Reports

  • ProcessNow Configuration Report: Configuration settings for ProcessNow Sequences in StackStudio are now available as a StackVision report (Reports > System Design > ProcessNow Configuration Report). This new report allows you to easily review ProcessNow tasks without having to run StackStudio. This update resolves Article 1890 in the ESC Customer Community.
  • Cylinder History Report: This report provides history information for all cylinders in Cylinder Management (Reports > QA and Certification). The report identifies when cylinders were put in service; includes the Controller, Sequence, and Phase associated with each cylinder; and identifies which cylinders are currently in-use. This new report resolves Article 1288 in the ESC Customer Community.
  • Cylinder Phase History Report: This report displays history information for phases associated with cylinders in Cylinder Management (Reports > QA and Certification). The report shows all cylinder ID associations for specific phases/gases, cylinder in-service and expiration dates, and which cylinders are currently in-use. This new report resolves Article 1288 in the ESC Customer Community.
  • Exceedance Events - Duration with Alarm Memo: The setup for this report now provides the “Show Alarm Memo” option. When enabled (checked), the generated report includes information entered in the Memo field when an exceedance event has been acknowledged. All other report information is the same as that in the Exceedance Events - Duration report. See Reports > Permit. This report resolves Article 1374 in the ESC Customer Community.
