At ESC, we understand how fortunate we are but, at the same time, realize that not everyone is as lucky. That's why we are excited to give back to the community and show Knoxville our appreciation through participation in several volunteer efforts across the city.
Adopt-A-Stream
As an environmental software provider, ESC's business is founded upon the idea of providing a cleaner environment. On March 20, 2010, ESC employees and their family members showed up to volunteer their time to help Adopt-A-Stream, a citizen-based monitoring and litter prevention initiative which aims to protect the health and beauty of local waterways. Adopt-A-Stream strives to create awareness of water quality issues, train citizens on how to monitor stream health, and involve citizens in efforts to reduce the amount of trash in and along local waterways. We're looking forward to our next stream cleanup in the fall of 2010!
Empty Stocking Fund 2009
On December 17-20, ESC employees showed up to volunteer their time to help the Empty Stocking Fund (ESF), a local Knoxville charity founded in 1912. Designed to provide food and toys to disadvantaged East Tennesseans during the holidays, ESF baskets include a 12-pound turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing mix, and enough staples to provide Christmas dinner as well as other meals during the holiday season. Recipients can also pick up clothing and children under the age of 16 receive two new toys. Every aspect of the ESF is a community-wide effort - from the donated materials and equipment to the volunteers who help. ESC was proud to be a part of the 2009 Empty Stocking Fund Effort.
